we have begun a conversation @ the sõl café of Jesus. a focus on the image of Christ that surrounds us in our culture and Christian sub-culture.
Jesus asked his disciples "who do they say I am?" and then brought the question to a more personal level "who do you say I am?"
we are on a journey to discover a relaDvent Jesus… the Jesus of scripture.
many of us have an image of Jesus that we have possibly created, or have been taught that may be relevant to our cultures but not true to who we truly IS.
we are wresting with the question that Jesus asked "who does our culture say Jesus is? Is he my homeboy? superstar? prophet? king? messiah? rabbi? baby?...
and in turn looking inward and asking the difficult question "who do I say He is?" what baggage might I have, what images have I created, how do I return to simply Jesus?
although our relationship with Jesus is personal it is not private… in discovering Jesus, his message and the good news how do we LIVE this day to day? how do we live with this HOPE? Christ in me…
who is Jesus to YOU?
